• Built on Ricard’s estate in Le Castellet, France. 
   
• Inaugurated in April 1970 with a 2-liter sports car race. 
   
• Initially designed to host the French Grand Prix, which it did on several occasions. 
   
• Became a popular high-tech testing facility after being acquired by Bernie Ecclestone.
